A few posts back, we introduced you guys to Bonobos – an energetic brand for men based out of NYC.  We’ve taken some time to go through their catalog of items and we’ve not only fallen in love with the brand, but also the versatility of their look.

Summer is coming to an end and that means we can finally start enjoying wearing pants again.  Not forgetting that chinos will never go out of style, we have to keep in mind that trends will alter how we wear them and what colors look best.  Chinos now come in many different colors, fits, and are worn in many different ways.  The great thing about them is that they’re great for any occasion.  Throw on a fitted button down shirt and oxford shoes and you’ll be ready for a night out with friends.   Grab your favorite hoodie and a pair of sneakers and you’re set for a day at the library.  Play with colors and fits.   There’s nothing you can do to make chinos look awful!

Thursday, September 6, 2012 is Fashion’s  Night Out around the world.  This year marks the event’s 4^th birthday and we’re lucky enough this year to have this amazing even in our hometown of Indianapolis! The website for Fashion Night Out boasts:

Join editors, stars, models, fashionistas, and designers on September 6, 2012, as they flood stores in cities across the country and around the world for fashion’s most iconic extravaganza.

Last year’s bash featured events in eighteen countries and more than 4,500 events here in the States. With special limited-edition products, celebrity appearances, and unforgettable performances, FNO 2012 is promising to be even bigger and better than before!

We’re lucky enough to attend all three major events hosted across the city brought by Pattern Indy and SocialClub19.  First stop will be a VIP reception at the Arts Garden in the Circle Center Mall.  Next we’ll spend some time at the Fashion Mall for some shopping and drinks.  After that we’ll head to the Indianapolis International Airport for the final reception.  The night will end at Blu for the after party to this amazing evening!

Fashion Night Out is meant to celebrate fashion and style, so follow us on Twitter with the hash tags #FNO #FNOindy #raannt as we run around celebrating all the fashion Indianapolis has to offer! We’ll show you the things we like –and those we don’t! We’re sadly kissing summer good bye, but excited to open up our wardrobes to the millions of items this fall season brings. The colors of spring and summer stay strong throughout fall, however, this time they’re a bit matted, darker, and not as bright.

The Burgundies this fall are perfect for accent pieces.  Match it with a mute or neutral color for more excitement or even with a bright summer color.  The versatility of the color burgundy is perfect for all occasions: from work to dinner or from class to a night out.

Beige is the perfect neutral color for fall.  This color can be paired with everything and for any occasion.  A pair of dark denim jeans with a beige bulky sweater is perfect for a walk through a pumpkin patch or a coffee date in the middle of the afternoon.  Playfully match your beige pieces with bright colors or other fall hues for an ideal fall look.

Green can be the perfect companion to every color this fall.  The military tone of green allows for your outfits to be more playful but still professional and well put together.  It’s darkness lets you still pair it with some bright colors for your day off or some equally dark colors for when you have to spend your day inside.

Yellow is definitely an accent color this fall; especially mustard yellow.  This accent hue goes well with colors like burgundy, navy blue, dark denim and grey.  Remember to think carefully about using this color, as it can be too loud sometimes, especially for important events (work meetings, school presentation or speeches).

You can never go wrong with navy blue.  The color is exceptionally versatile, classic, and still playful enough for casual occasions. Muted,  it can be worn with pretty much anything.

Alexander McQueen changed the face of fashion more than a few times.  First he made his mark on the history of fashion with his incredible sense of revolutionary designs and awe inspiring uniqueness.  Fashion history changed again with his death and what some thought would be the death of his creative spirit. No more McQueen meant going back to what fashion was before him. But thanks to the creative minds of his team and close coworkers he left behind a fashion legacy with the ability to survive and prosper. The time to pull out our whitest whites has come.  The infamous end of summer White Party has gladly reached it’s time.  Invitations have been sent through the mail and into people’s inboxes.  Summer romances are dwindling or turning into Autumn love affairs, meaning you either have a date for the party or you’re flying solo hoping for one last summer fling! Either way, you still need the perfect outfit to set you above the rest.

Every year we look forward to this special gathering; everyone celebrating the end of summer, chatting about our experiences and world excursions to the backdrop of our favorite songs played in an atmosphere set for pure, exquisite perfection.  Here are some of our suggestions for a white hot look that is sure to impress!

1. White fitted shorts and a cool white button down with boat shoes.  The Hamptons look is perfect for an outside party or day party.

2. White denim, a polo shirt, and colorful loafers.  This preppy attire translates from day to night and comfortably while still being super stylish.  Just don’t get anything on your pants.

3. Black and White stripe tank, white dress pants, and black boots.  It’s ok to break the rules…just do it in a respectable and fashionable way. This fashion forward summer look is perfect to catch the room’s attention.

4. Classic white suit and brown wingtip oxfords – enough said.

5. Shorts suit? YEP! Dress up and play with the heat.  Wearing dress shorts with a blazer has been around for years (Remember when our moms used to dress us up?) Go back in time and play with what you’ve got.  This look is playful and flirty.

Summer it’s at its’ end and we want to make the best of it – so go out there, get yourself invited to a White Party (if you haven’t been already) and make stories that will make your mom blush. And if you haven’t been invited, throw your own.  Nothing says Autumn better than accessorizing with some control in your life!
