Ansel Elgort, the breakout star of the young adult movie Divergent and the star of The Fault in Our Stars, premiering today, may only be 20, but we’re willing to bet some good money that he will be the heartthrob of many young girls and guys this summer! In just two years, this young actor has put his talents, and good looks, to the test in five major films, all of which he has gained major recognition.  We think he’s a perfect fit for our Sexiest Man of the Day, especially after you see him as Augustus in The Fault in Our Stars…you won’t  be disappointed!

If you have not seen HBO‘s The Normal Heart about the beginning of the AIDS epidemic in New York City in the 80’s and the origin of the Gay Men’s Health Crisis…you are really missing out.  Although this movie is extremely honest and vulnerable, at times difficult to watch, Mark Ruffalo is so committed in his dedication to the truth of the film that he is deserving of an Oscar…if it weren’t on HBO.   Following a great ride as the star of Thanks For Sharing, about sexual addiction, another film in which he was truly committed, Mark Ruffalo has shown that he is truly a rising star with value and depth.  It doesn’t hurt that he’s hot as hell either!

“Best New Summer Book of 2014! Great beach or pool book!”

It goes without saying that we love a sexy, silver fox, but when that silver fox also happens to be kind, intelligent and charming, he is catapulted into royal foxdom, as is the case with Anderson Cooper.  Actually, we’re surprised we haven’t put him on our Sexiest Man of the Day list before, being that we find him so completely attractive, but today is his day!

If you’ve been watching HBO‘s Looking, only the best new television show at the moment, then you’re quite aware that it’s ensemble cast is full of a diverse group of gorgeous guys; each beautiful in his own way.  Both of us have our favorites, for varying reasons, but one of our favorites is Richie who is played by Raul Castillo.  We’re not sure if it’s his rugged exterior or his softer interior, but this guys a keeper!

Two things happened in to Bradley Cooper in 2014 that forever changed our feelings about him.  First, he was featured on the cover of GQ’s January issues followed by an interview inside, and Second, he captured our entire focus while watching the Academy Awards.  While we’ve been long fans of Bradley Cooper, the physical and the actor, we weren’t quite sure what made us more drawn to him than usual.  Was he more suave? Did his teeth shine brighter when he smiled? Was he more tan or more in shape? We’re not entirely sure, but Bradley looks better than ever.

Our first thought upon seeing Benedict Cumberbatch was “Is that Dennis Quaid’s son?” And the answer is…no!  Benedict Cumberbatch is an English actor who, long before finding fame in the television show Sherlock or landing breakout roles in 2014 Oscar nominated films 12 Years a Slave and August: Osage County, found refuge on the stage.  And if you know anything about those British stage actors…once they find home on the screen with a background on the stage, we’re bound to see them win award after award after award! We’d be happy to continue to see him win, especially if that means we are able to see more of him on screen!
