The year is pretty much over… crazy! OMG that’s so crazy!!!! It feels like yesterday we were getting ready to head down to our NYE home (CÎROC The New Year Indianapolis, IN) for our annual end of year celebration. For the last 6+ years CÎROC The New Year Indianapolis has offered us a space to get glammed up for, to spend time with our close friends, to dance in style, create memories with family and to introduce the party to Indianapolis Newbies. This year will be different, why?! We’ve created a habit… Introducing beautiful people to the world of festivals and electronic music. You would think that by now, late 2016, anyone under the age of 30 would at least been to a festival that presented multiple DJs on different stages or days. Well, not all and we’ve been fortunate enough to treat our friends to a over the top festival experience! We took our doll Jesi to Haunted Fest. Kaskade was closing the night down, so we were overly excited! Before him was Marshmello and Jesi and BF, our forever intern Juan Paredes, were super excited to see him. So it was a great combo.
The warehouse space made the night feel like an original rave, the ones that were underground and only a few people knew about but were always packed. The crowd, however, made it feel like “welcome the graduating class of 2016 from such and such high school”… it was a little young,BUT! it was also Halloween weekend, so we got to see lots of fun costumes! We arrived at the end of Party Thieves set, Anna Lunoe followed and man! were we excited to hear someone new. 1st time checking her out and we gotta say it, she rocked it! Her ability to blend hardcore dubstep with some contemporary trap while dropping top 10 electronic beats was refreshing and sexy. Not to mention that a British accent makes anything extra sexy! Marshmello was great and Kaskade killed it. Kaskade is our happy place so anywhere he goes, we go! Over all the night was great, the party was crazy and the music was dope… Haunted Fest, you get a solid B+ from raannt!

So this was cool… 1st time stepping into a tour bus!! We felt super cool! Chris & Jon were incredibly welcoming and friendly and cool dudes for sure! As we entered the bus (trying to stay cool, cuz you know it was our first time hanging with celebrities in their own personal space) the Texans & Patriots game was on two big screen tvs on each side of the bus. Providing the perfect, not really, lighting for our FacebookLive session with the guys.

Another night another rager? Hahahah well, we don’t rage as often as we would like to but let’s just say that Safe In Sound Music Festival provided a great reason (and music) to rage! The 3 year old traveling festival teamed up with Borgore to lead a pack of incredible DJs onto a 25 city tour. Allowing fans to experience the music festival on their own social playgrounds. Each city features a different set of DJs (sometimes not, but it has a great artist rotation) for a unique experience. For the Indianapolis chapter we had ETC(!) ETC(!), TERRAVITA, Zomboy & Borgore and were able to clock some one on one chats with the cool kids from TERRAVITA and the man himself Borgore! Each DJ was great and played some exciting tunes, some dropped new tracks and others really pumped up the energy of the crowd. So here’s to the many Safe In Sound Music Festivals left and if one is close to you or hitting your hometown, make sure you go!!!!!!
You guys… This was literally so much fun for us! Meeting and chatting with Borgore gave us this “cool” feel to our experience at Safe In Sound Music Festival and being able to get back stage to take pix and dance a little to his set, was the cherry on top! Borgore is a cool cat guys! He legit sat back on the couch and answer questions and we felt like we were just hanging out with a friend at his house. We talked about the Safe In Sound concept, we talked about his newest single “Daddy” and why he goes by that! We also learned that he likes rock climbing! That was cool. North Coast Music Festival (📸: North Coast Music Festival)
You guys! North Coast Music Festival was bomb! We tried new music, finally checked out artist we’ve been wanting to see, got to interview TAUK! and even got a haircut within the festival grounds!
Off to NCMF
Sadly, and very much so, we missed out on Friday. Though we geared up on Saturday and hit the road. Our approach was to try new music! It’s a new festival for us and we took this opportunity to dip our toes in different genres of music. We also brought our friend Kayla Noel (Click on her name to check out her music) who’s A) never been to a music festival before and B) is a musician so she gave us a different perspective on the entire performance aspect. The stages were close to each other, but with enough distance that they wouldn’t interfere with each other. The festival had it’s normal row of food vendors and they included an area for merchants to set up shop and sale their accessories. Black Black Moon was our favorite, their accessories were literally so cute, Alex would ware pretty much anything they have!

Saturday:
The festival vibe was great! A little different than what we’re used to, not in a bad way, just different. It’s very hippie-earthy… and not the dirty kind, like these people showered and took care of themselves, very freepeople on a budget. First was the Silent Disco… It’s such fun concept, any time there’s one, we have to go! The music was great and what was awesome about this one was that North Coast had live art happening within the silent disco area. We didn’t stay too long, we wanted to walk around plus the spray paint fumes were starting to get to us a little. We caught a bit of TY Dolla $ign as we walked in, ran to Raury (mainly because we wanted a good spot for Keys N Krates) and loved his set! Great energy, live music, super energetic, we really liked him! Keys N Krates took the stage and they rocked it, really love how they play off of each other and take turns showcasing their strengths. We went over to Bassnectar last, his set was great and that goes without saying, though the crowed was too intense so we bounced over to the Coast Stage and checked out Logic, man we’re glad we did! He’s ability to intertwine different genres of music, in live format, into a cohesive set is pretty unbelievable. All in all, it was a pretty killer start to our NCMF weekend!
Keys N Krates Coast Stage
Sunday was it for us! The day had the line up we were the most excited about: Sam Feldt, Matoma & Zedd while still focusing on trying new musi. We were able to catch a bit of TAUK‘s set, we interviewed the band so really wanted to get the vibe of them on stage (Check out the interview here). Their music is energetic and thee really exude passion, they’re going on tour this fall, so make sure you check them out! We hopped over to the Heineiken tent and played up in the cool air while listening to some dirty house ghettotek thumps dropped by Gant Man and after ran over to Jessie Royal for some inspiring music! After missing Sam Feldt at Ultra Music Festival back in march, it was important to us to catch his set. This dude is awesome! He brought a live saxophone player out on stage to play along some of his tracks! Sam Feldt, you’re killer and we’re obsessed! The rest of the night was great! Matoma was fun as always and ZEDD was incredible! It’s a little hard to beat his Ultra production, but he brought the house down! He was a great way to close a great weekend!
Ok!!! so here’s really what we loved THE MOST! American Crew set up an old fashion style barber shop within the ground of the festival! Like, mirrors, fans, two barber chairs, two stylists, products and all! The cuts were free and if you shared a before and after using @AmericanCrew #BlueSuedeBarberShop you got a free product! Matthew Pigula did Alex’s hair, this guy can cut some hair! American Crew & North Coast Music Festival, you guys earned some extra cool points!!! CID & Kaskade have teamed up to create sweet Sweet Memories, and we’re jamming to it. The track is perfect for all setting, it can bounce from the famous Kaskade Redux setting to any big room show or festival. The house vibes of the track are pretty contagious and incredibly thumpy. Look, we’re huge Kaskade fans, and honestly he can do no wrong when it comes to music… The track is fun, has lots of energy and has that grime feel throughout the track. The North Coast Music Festival 3-day party is almost here guys! With just a little over a week away our planning is starting to come to a complete wrap up. Though, we still have the logistics to figure out (like where to stay and what to eat lol). North Coast Music Festival has an interactive schedule page that allows attendees map out their days by creating an individual schedule of artist. Making the bouncing between stages super easy.
Here’s what we have to see and what we want to try:
Friday Schedule
We want to check out Baauer & The Revivalists, never seen them live but would love to check out what they bring to the decks! We must must must catch Louis Futon, Galantis, Juicy J and Odesza. These are artist we’ve followed for years and for one reason or another we missed them or only catch a few minutes of their show. Now you know where we’ll be Friday.
Saturday Schedule
The second day is going to be a bit more experimental for us. There are only 2 people we have to see, Keys N Krates & Bassnectar. So, Saturday will serve as a day for us to expand our electronic music taste. Over looking at the schedule and with some raannt research we want to get a taste for The Trap House, Allan Rayman, Tiddle, Big Wild & Vulfpeck. Who are you ready to check out?

The last day is jam packed for us… We want to see Jesse Royal, Matt and Kim, Jesse Saunders, Action Bronson and can’t miss our favorites Sam Feldt, Matoma & ZEDD! As we wrap up summer and find ourselves with no plans, look at the possibility of hitting the windy city of Chicago for North Coast Music Festival.
