Throwback Thursdays: New Balance Gives Life to Vintage New Balance

There is a danger to simply throwing the word “vintage” in front of any fashion item expecting to add a bit of quality to it which it might not deserve. For example, not all “vintage” concert tees are deserving of the same classic recognition as an original 1972 Dylan and The Dead. While that is true, any classic brand which decides to bring back a classic look and rename it “vintage” has probably earned the right to the classic title. New Balance is a brand which has rightfully earned this status.

New Balance has announced they will be releasing their 2013 Spring/Summer ‘Vintage’ Pack highlighted in classic treatment with windbreaking colors found in the early 80’s. Although they’re a little thicker than their original styles, they are reminiscent to bygone days and feathered hair. While New Balance hasn’t set a release date on these amazing beauties, we’re sure it’s right around the corner in time for summer to rock them out on the beach.

Wingtip Wednesday! Trickers for Sophnet…We’re Obsessed with Sophnet!

First of all, have you ever visited the Sophnet website? Holy Christ, it’s amazing! Not only are their shoes amazing, but every single item in their product list. We would happily fill our closet with shirts, pants and accessories from this amazing brand! As you know, we’re forever on the search for the next best Wingtip…and this week we found it in Sophnet’s 2013 Spring/Summer collection. These shoes are state of the art imagination mixed with genius comfortability! We’re in love!!! And check out these hats! Incredibly hot! We want one…yesterday!

All of these items can be found on their website including an amazing blog featuring art, music and sports post as well as release dates and pictures of their newest designs! We may have just found our favorite new brand website!!!! We’re obsessed with Sophnet!

T-Shirt Tuesdays: Sorry Girls!

We have seen pictures of these hilariously outspoken tee shirts all over the internet. Pictures of celebrities wearing these tees have been reposted over and over again on Tumblr and other social media sites. We’ve loved these tees for so long and have been desperately trying to find the authentic tee that first came out, but so many imitators have played into the game we’re not entirely sure who was first BUT Break The Labels tees, one of our favorite tee shirt makers, has what looks to be authentic. Sneaker Saturday: Nike Honors Black History Month

Years ago, Nike started a tradition of honoring Black History month by designing a line of shoes and clothing specifically dedicated to Black History Month and those athletes who embody their annual motto. This year, their mantra “Be Bold, Be True” is inspired by Kevin Durant, Serena Williams and Didier Drogba, and their social awareness outside of their respective sports.

We’re absolutely obsessed with the LEBRON X(Featuring the MLK Design) and the Air Force 1 Foamposite High(both shown above).

Fragrance Fridays! Having a Signature Scent!

From now on, every Friday on raannt will be Fragrance Fridays. We absolutely love cologne and seem to acquire more and more of it on a regular basis. People constantly ask us what are our favorite colognes and what they should buy for their boyfriends and husbands. The concept of having a “signature scent” is interesting because it implies you only where once specific cologne or perfume. For us, we like to change it up regularly and wear different scents depending on our mood or the occasion. That being said, we each have our own specific “signature scent” which we’ve worn for quite some time.

Almost fifteen years ago, my mother bought me my very first bottle of Michael by Michael Kors. To me it smells like a rich mix of patchouli oil, cedar and sex. I’m stopped on an almost daily basis and asked the name of this cologne. I literally have yet to meet another person who wears so it’s safe to say if you choose this scent you’ll stand out. The women’s Michael cologne is equally as rich and sexy. Maybe a Valentine’s gift for two???

Alex started wearing Bleu De Chanel several years ago and it still smells fresh and masculine. Every time he wears it I find myself falling in love all over again.

For our bachelor party, our good friend Tawny had oils made with a combination of both scent and called it raannt. She gave the oils out to our guests as party favors. To this day, people ask us for more and tell us that they love wearing it. We’ve got a secret stash and wear it under our cologne, reminding us of our love and commitment! Plus…it’s kinda cool to have your own scent!

Throwback Thursdays! Parachute Pants!

Every Thursday will be Throwback Thursday, identifying one has-been “luxury” trend that might, just might make it’s way back into the mainstream. Do you remember the amazingly slick, although uncomfortable, parachute pants that everyone had to have back in the day? I can still remember begging my parents to buy me a pair. My mom even made me sign a written agreement that I would never, ever ask for another thing if I could just get a pair of these coveted pants. I signed the paper. My parachute pants were black. I’m not sure what happened to those pants but I can remember how excited I was when I brought them home and wore them to school the next day.

Wingtip Wednesday! The Prada Levitate Wingtip!

Have you caught on yet that we’ve devoted each day of the week to a specific men’s apparel piece? Wednesdays are devoted to wingtips…our favorite shoe. A wingtip is another word for a full Brogue, a low heeled show with perforated decorations. Our closet is filled to the brim with all kinds…formal, high-top, sneaker, daily oxford…you name it. For that reason, we’ve decided to devote one day of the week specifically to the wonderful wingtip(har, har)!

This week we are spotlighting our recent fave…The Prada Levitate “Wingtip” Shoe! Although many have criticized this shoe as ugly, we’re absolutely obsessed. We love the combination of the Nike sole with the glamour of the Prada shoe. Although this day is dedicated to wingtips, it is important to note that the Prada Levitate series also comes in a loafer(super cute) and calf boot. The shoes start at $660.
