Tiesto is building quite the empire. Recently, he released a line of headphones designed specifically with the EDM ear in mine. The New AKG by TIESTO headphones range in price from $99 to $349, and although comparable to Beats by Dr. Dre…are much more high tech! If that isn’t enough, now Tiesto has teamed up with with GUESS for a clothing line that perfectly fits into the EDM lifestyle. Fun, young, chic, and totally care free. The video below shows the super sexy Melanie Iglesias changing into looks (not sure they’re by Tiesto) that describe the feel of all the different aspects of EDM, not to mention this kittykat is uber sexy and should totally be one of our closest gal pals!

Be Yourself. Be Fearless. Be Your Own Unexpected Luxury!
Ultra TV has been busy creating a series of videos that will keep us a bit warmer during these cold winter months. The concept is to chat with some of the powerful minds of the EDM world and experience a bit of their time well spent in Ibiza this past summer. The 15 episode series will feature DJs like Above & Beyond (1st episode), R3hab (who we just interviewed), Markus Schulz, Robert Sanchez and more!
RuPaul’s Drag Race All Stars hasn’t even crowned a queen yet and already LOGO TV has released the cast of RuPaul’s Drag Race Season 5 which is scheduled to premier on January 28th, 2013. And…Alaska, Sharon Needles’ boyfriend, finally made it on the show after several, several…several attempts. We’re sure she’s a huge contender being that she seems to come from the same creative gene pool as Sharon…obviously one of our all time faves.
Also up for consideration are several queens who have pageant pasts, such as Roxxxy Andrews(Miss Continental Plus 2010/Miss West Virginia Continental 2012, Coco Montrese(Miss Gay America 2010) and Alyssa Edwards(Miss Gay USofA 2006/Miss Gay America 2010(Dethroned)/All American Goddess 2010(Dethroned). Already, the drag pageant boards are lighting up with conversations and threads of anti-Alyssa debauchery stating she doesn’t have the professionalism to be on RuPaul’s drag race, especially since she’s been dethroned twice from national titles. To make it even more interesting, fellow Ru contestant Coco Montrese, her 1st alternate to Miss Gay America 2010, assumed Alyssa’s role after she was dethroned. Makes for some very interesting subtext to the show.
Also…Detox was one of the queens in the Chow Down(at Chick fil-A) Video made famous by Willam Belli seen HERE! The video is absolutely hilarious and went viral quickly! All of the other girls look amazing too, and maybe we’ll try to dig up some gossip and background stories on the others to share here later in the week!
Stay tuned as we’ll be doing weekly reviews, interviews with the contestants and up to the moment gossip before the show premieres…and after.
Ohhhh…and LOGO…could you please put Danny Noriega aka Adore Delanoon the show so she can shut the fuck up!!!! Isn’t one reality show enough Danny??? Actually, we’re totally serious. We’re huge Danny/Adore fans and think she would be an amazing addition to the show. Just saying…Season 6 maybe???
Check out pictures of all of the Season 5 contestants below and let us know what you think…we love getting the gossip threads started on our page! In order: Alaska, Alyssa Edwards, Coco Montrese, Detox, Honey Mahogany, Ivy Winters, Jinkx Monsoon, Lineysha Sparx, Monica Beverly Hillz, Penny Tration, Roxxxy Andrews, Serena Chacha and Vivienne Pinay.
In the last year, we have seen this tee shirt everywhere on the internet. While knock-offs can be bought for $20 at any online tee shirt store, the authentic Yves St. Laurent men’s tees run anywhere from $200-$700! While we’re all about luxury and think these tees are absolutely fabulous, $700 is a little pricey…even for us. But we’re not about knock-offs either so we’ve put the newer, grey designs on our wish lists below and are hoping Santa tucks it in our stocking this year! Check our favorite below, which we found paired with Alexander McQueen pants and a cardigan on Matches…one of our favorite clothing sites!!!
We were raised on Dinah Washington. We love Dinah Washington. But it was the mix of her all time great This Bitter Earth done by Max Richter that reminded us of the haunting swell of her melody. Her voice is the memory of fireplaces, candle light, wine glasses and kissing in the rain. And then losing it all…Luxury lost and regained.
If you haven’t heard the newer version, mixed for the film Shutter Island, check it out below.
Be Yourself. Be Fearless. Be Your Own Unexpected Luxury.
We can’t even show our faces for this one because we’re sooooo embarrassed for a couple of gals here in Indy. So, here’s the story. And you have to read it all the way through because it directly ties back to our annual SEXY List of Indy’s most amazing, most powerful, most beautiful, most desired and most confident. The SEXY List bitches…and we pick the REAL people who deserve these positions, not just who kissed enough ass to a bartender or who knows an editor of a magazine or a newspaper. Nope…if you end up on our list…you deserve it. Except for one individual.
Last week one of our dear friends was celebrating her birthday. We’d like to say that she had been celebrating it up and had an amazing week, but needless to say, she, an always extremely grateful person, was a little down on her luck and needed some cheering up. Imagine her surprise when during her birthday party she received a text from two old gal pals, neither of which she interacts with anymore, including a picture they had made with her face on the body of a KKK klansman. Now…we’ve been told by the artist herself that there’s two sides to every story and that we need to stay out of it because it’s between her and our friend, but when have we become so immune to the world around us that we think it’s ok to do that to someone??? It’s harassment. It’s bullying. It’s disgusting and it’s sick.
How many of you think this is funny? Do you think this behavior is ok? Should we be worried that people who we eat and dance with might actually want to lynch us or bully us into suicide? Further…what the fuck are two grown thirty plus year old women doing photo-shopping harassing pictures??? Do you have nothing better to do?
Here’s our dilemma; one of the artists has been on our SEXY list for the last two years. We can’t tolerate this behavior. We can’t condone it. One of our friends commented and said, “I’ll be talking to her about it but I won’t be turning my back on her.” Well of course not…how dare we actually confront atrocities such as bullying. Why would you want to be friends with a sick individual like that…no matter the background story.
Now let’s revisit our definition of sexy:
sex-y -adjective 1. a genuine mix of physical beauty, confidence, attraction, humility, compassion, star quality, character and authenticity. used in a sentence: “I made the sexy list!”
So you see, when we’re told that our SEXY list is a sham and that we just pick our friends, even though tons of the people who have been on the list we haven’t previously met, we’re in total disbelief because we put a lot of thought into our list, as well as take nominations and suggestions from others.
Our question to you…what categories would you like to see this year? Would you just like to see people or would you also like to see establishments? Any suggestions on categories? Let us know and we’ll help give you the best SEXY List ever…which will be announced at a special end of the year party at Lounge 54 attached to Brewstone!
Get ready, because we’ve been working on the list all year and we have twice as many categories as last year.
One last thing…The way you treat others really tells the world more about yourself. So…
Be Yourself. Be Fearless. Be Your Own Unexpected Luxury!
Every now and then we find an artist, of any kind, that shakes the industry they’re in and reshapes the stereotypes and logistics recreating the rules and boundaries. DJ Dainjazone has done just that. After touring the world with LMFAO as their party rock dj, Dainjazone has learned and been able to craft a sound that is a mix of old school pop/hiphop into the overwhelming sounds of electric music; creating with it a new generation of sound and soul…which has absolutely blown our minds! Ladies and Gentlemen…we give you DJ Dainjazone…the leader of the new school!
The power to control music and the battle DJs ignited my passion. My initial interest was to be a battle DJ and do a few parties here and there. Something about turntablism struck a flame of desire to make the art form my own.
3. How did you come up with your stage name?
In the midst of becoming a battle DJ I was an avid listener of the rapper Big L. He has a song called “Danger Zone”. The verses and chorus made the name come to life. It was organic. Something hit me. I wanted a name that would sound intimidating in a battle. If a competitor said, “I have to battle Dainjazone next?” then maybe mentally he would be distracted and intimidated by the mere thought of the name and what it represents.
4. Tell us a bit about your DJ’ing skills. How are you different from everyone else?
My focused mind set isn’t comparing myself to other. Surely words and opinions can twist into a comparing scenario. My focus is delivering a sound that feels right. Our uniqueness defines us and for the critics it will help separate us from the norm. I don’t think its my skills that make me unique but rather my ideas. I take chances. I tell a story throughout the course of a night. An emotional roller coaster if you will.
5. What is something we wouldn’t know by looking at you?
I’ve read 50 Shades of Grey.
6. Tell us about your experience touring with LMFAO.
The experience is like no other. Touring is no joke. It’s a mental challenge that break you down if handled carelessly. I ended the tour mentally comfortable and at peace with my inner being. Building confidence was an exceptional learning experience. You have to express confidence and love for what you do. It relays and rubs off on the crowd. They will be inspired to have fun.
7. How were you introduced to LMFAO?
I went to high school with their manager’s, Ian Fletcher, baby-mama. Between her vouching for me and my DJ friend, Mikiwar, introducing me to him I was more or less introduced to LMFAO.
8. They have an incredibly unique sense of style and music. What have you learn from touring with them?
Responsibility, showmanship, delivery and music theory seem to pop in my head first. Partying with them, having a good time and dressing the part is easy.
9. What has been your favorite thing about touring internationally?
The learning opportunities. The knowledge I’ve acquired regarding knowledge of self, the tour lifestyle, music, controlling emotions, mental health and survival in four months has been intense, gratifying and rewarding.
10. What are 3 things you always have with you while traveling?
Laptop, clean underwear and Cazal glasses.
11. Who are your top 5 favorite musicians and why?
Tough question. In no particular order…
1. The Weeknd. His music is like no other. It may very well be timeless. The modern day Sade.
2. Michael Jackson. The best to do it. His music was consistent and for the most part a step ahead of its time.
3. Travis Barker. Watching him live is a joy. His passion and skill level is inspiring.
4. DJ Premier. His sound is unique and has inspired hip hop producers for over 2 decades. His work can put you in an inspiring hip hop trance.
5. Prince. He’s Prince.
12. If you could work with any musician, dead or alive, who would your top 3 be and why?
As a DJ I can only do so much for the musicians of the past so my focus would be geared to the hip hop generation.
1. Kanye West. I’m a fan of art and his ability combine art in general with art in music can’t be explained.
2. Chris Brown. He’s an incredible performer with hits. He’s successfully entertaining both markets of hip hop and house and those fields are what I enjoy mixing.
3. The Weeknd. I thoroughly enjoy his music and would love to be a part of his movement.
13. If you had to master another genre of music, which one would it be and why?
Funk. The music was live and it felt like there wasn’t a terrible track produced since labels and pressings were hard to come by. seemed like a fun era of music and the soul was alive and kicking.
14. How do you define sexy?
Confidence.
15. What do you think is the sexiest city? Club? Hotel? Club? Place to kiss?
Cannes, France is my personal favorite but the whole French Riviera is gorgeous. Liv in Miami is all around great. We stayed in so many sexy hotels in Europe. Hard to call it. The French Riviera seems fitting for the best place to kiss.
16. Tell us about New School Music and what inspired this concept?
Music forever changes. So do people, fashion, slang, etc. Moral, ethics and integrity doesn’t when it comes to quality business. As the new wave of talented DJs evolve, they need guidance. We need guidance. We don’t want the ego to steer us off course. Its easy to be arrogant these days since that’s what sells and where the focus is for marketing strategies. My success has proven that being yourself and owning integrity can lead to infinite possibilities.
17. What piece of advice would you give a DJ starting out his/her career?
Study every DJ including him or herself. Know who he or she is. Live right. Respect yourself and others. Speak well of others. Exercise mental toughness. Be ready for anything. What you do today sets up tomorrow.
18. What should we expect from your upcoming solo tour?
A unique delivery; Party Rock energy; amazing clubs; and a story for the dance floor.
19. What’s next for DJ Dainjazone?
I will ride out the remainder of the year as LMFAO’s tour DJ. In the midst of that ill be working w/ a talent agency that will get me involved in modeling and commercial opportunities.
20. What are your three simple luxuries?
Comfortable bed, power outlets and a shower.

We are so completely over Facebook right now! Between the election and the second coming of Christ, everyone has left paragraphs about their political and religious beliefs on the walls of Facebook. Friends have been lost, no one’s poking anymore and we might even get a dislike button. We’re not too worried. For the last year, we’ve been completely obsessing over Twitter and Tumblr anyway as our social media outlets du jour, especially Tumblr, where would could spend hours and hours, drinking Starbucks and reblogging pictures of tattoos, beards, style icons and cultural references. Yep…Twitter and Tumblr are where it’s at these days…(watch out as the moms start getting Tumblr accounts called “SUVSuicide-ation”. Dark, brooding, mom blogs!)
This week we’ve pick two of our all time favorite Tumblr blogs. Both, for different reasons, have made a huge impact on Tumblr and are influentially culturally, one maybe without even knowing it.
Tetino-teteis hands down one of the most amazing, men’s fashion blogs of all time…and you thought we were good with our daily style reviews and picks! The symmetry between the images and the consistency of always being true to classically good style while keeping up with ever changing trends put Tetino-tete way above the rest. It is always at the top of men’s style blogs and is, for us, a reference point for inspiration! We love this blog!
Trust us on this one. Just follower her. She is amazing. While some will be turned off by the title, Daddy Fucked Meis one of the most amazingly creative blogs on Tumblr. Run by Jillian, her mix of Lolita inspired, black and white pictures mixed with frightening images, pictures never seen anywhere else on Tumblr and always original. We’ve followed her on our own personal blogs for some time and have never been disappointed. She’s edgy, unapologetic and dynamic. Even in her ASK box message, she makes no excuses. She’s answer her questions when she wants to and lately she hasn’t really been feeling like answering a lot of questions. If, as so many celebrities tell us in their interviews, that sexiness is equal to confidence, watch out…because Jillian might just be the sexiest of them all. An no…she doesn’t have sex with her dad…but she does have a protective boyfriend so beware! We love this blog so much and sit drooling over the images she puts together!
Every Friday we’ll be posting our picks for some element of social media, so make sure you follow us and Tweet us so we know to look at you!
We are absolutely in love with Alesso’s newest hit Years Ft. Matthew Koma, which is rapidly moving up not only the European but also the US Dance charts. The song is both upbeat but also has a haunting sadness about it. Our favorite part of the track is the outro…but the whole song is amazing. Check it out and you’ll understand why it’s moving so quick up the charts. You’ll LOVE the first person video clips! Probably why he’s quickly becoming one of our favorites!
I actually had this poster hanging in my bedroom when I was in high school. We were all obsessed with The Cure back then and most of my girl-friends were obsessed with Robert Smith…why I’ll never understand. By today’s standards he’s so completely dark and brooding, the perfect boyfriend mix of eye liner and angst while wielding a guitar. The song Friday I’m in Love didn’t actually come out until 1992 when it was released on the Wish album, but I was already two years gone from high school so it’s strange that I remember this song from high school. While I’m not sure of the specifics, I am absolutely sure that we did listen to Boys Don’t Cry, Just Like Heaven and all of the other greats while we were in high school, driving around, leaving notes on boy’s cars that we liked and pouring syrup from pancake houses on the windshield wipers and door handles of cars of boys we didn’t like. Yes, we were quite the badasses of central Indiana with our punk rock concert tees and Doc Martins, cuffed jeans and thrift store sport coats.
Today, my friend Stephanie from high school commented on the flashback of The Smiths Girlfriend in a Coma, that I had written yesterday. “Oh wow. I can smell the wisp of cloves now…”, referring to our late fall and summer nights smoking clove cigarettes while signing the words to our favorite songs. It’s nice to know that some of my other friends remember those nights and those songs because there are still nights that I get into my car, light a cigarette and I’m 18 again. Actually, I don’t think some of us ever grow up. I don’t think I will. I refuse. You can’t make me!
Well…maybe at least not until I’m done listening to my old Cure albums…
