Sylvester Returns with Mighty Real; Greatest Dance Hit Compilation!

Although the Disco Dance Diva, Sylvester, passed away in late 1988, his music is still a fundamental essence to anything Disco, from themed parties to Disco enthusiasts.  His classic hit, You Make Me Feel(Mighty Real), while still fresh, is reminiscent of a time of freedom of sexuality and spirit, and Sylvester himself best showed this as a fashion icon with his gender-bending style.

Sylvester was not just a one hit wonder, party girl from the days of disco, but also a pioneer of some of the greatest fundamental beats for House music today.  During his reign as queen of the ball, he modernized focused sounds of gospel and worked along the likes of today Club diva Martha Wash.

While the compilation is a re-release, including Sylvester‘s music from 1977-1980, it also includes new hits, such as You Make Me Feel(Might Real) Ralphi Rosario’s Dub Mix!

While we were listening to Bob Sinclar‘s official Soundcloud site earlier, we stumbled upon this new mix by DJ Mag of Bob Sinclar‘s Ibiza Mon Amour and were absolutely entranced.  For over an hour, we bopped around from our desk through the halls, up the stairs and outside, full of energy from the perfect house mix! Right on DJ Max!  We love this mix and think it’s the perfect mix to get our asses back to the gym!

GTA Keeps the Huge Remixes Coming With Takes on Kylie, Kaskade & JWLS!

Julio Mejia and Matt van Toth, otherwise known as GTA, have been able to churn out three monster remixes in the space of just two weeks.

Starting off with dance behemoth, Kaskade, the Miami duo does what they do best; taking the progressive production and blowing it out of the ‘Atmosphere’ and into outer space with their own trap-laden beat.

Lady Gaga’s “Delivers” Child “ARTPOP”: New Album, Single, Release Date and APP!!!

Going live in the middle of the night, Lady Gaga released a statement earlier today on her Facebook announcing the “delivery” of her new album, which will be simply titled ARTPOP, to drop November 11th, with the first single being released August 19th and the pre-order date set for the album set for September 1st in conjunction with a new app!!!! Oh my! We are extremely excited.  Even more excited by the mystery Gaga always conjures up around her work.  Is it any surprise that she “delivered” this news exactly 9 months to the date of this mysterious Tweet:

We don’t think so and of course love the mystery and the drama of it all! And we’re going to try not to over-analyze Gaga in any way and just appreciate the child she’s delivered to us!  Just bring us that damn single already!!!!

Capitol Cities Live on Jimmy Kimmel & Livestream!

Capital Cities is performing on Jimmy Kimmel Live! on Thursday, July 11 at 11:35pm/10:35pm CT on ABC!!!

As part of the late night show’s collaboration with Myspace, the band will also perform an extended set immediately following the live television broadcast. Fans who can’t make it to the JKL Hollywood Boulevard Studio to watch the concert can tune in to Myspace to catch the special performance, which will be livestreamed in HD on the site and right below:

Capital Cities’ debut album, In A Tidal Wave of Mystery was released on June 4 by Capitol Records, in partnership with Lazy Hooks. Produced by founders/frontmen Ryan Merchant and Sebu Simonian – two LA-based jingle writers who met on Craigslist–In A Tidal Wave Of Mystery includes the multi-format radio smash “Safe and Sound,” which hit Number 1 on the Modern Rock format chart, reached the Top 20 at Triple A, and cracked the Top 40 at Top 40 radio.
