Over the weekend we had the pleasure to chat with Matt Jalbert (Guitar) Charlie Dolan (Bass) Alric “A.C.” Carter (Keyboards/Organ) Isaac Teel (Drums) from TAUK. Before landing the interview, we didn’t know who they were or what kind of music they played. As a matter of fact, we thought it was a one person DJ act. That’s usually what is pitched to us, but after some research, listening to their music, and watching their videos, we were excited to get to know the minds behind the band. First we wanted to know what their name meant, how to pronounce it, and how they came to be.
We talked about their new album, Sir Nebula, and their newest music video for “Horizons” – which seriously, it’s pretty trippy! So fun to see their music translated into something unexpected! We also talked about their upcoming tour and how they collaborate with each other. Check out our chat bellow:
And make sure you catch them while they’re on the road! It’s seriously a great show!!
North Coast Music Festival (📸: North Coast Music Festival)
You guys! North Coast Music Festival was bomb! We tried new music, finally checked out artist we’ve been wanting to see, got to interview TAUK! and even got a haircut within the festival grounds!
Off to NCMF
Sadly, and very much so, we missed out on Friday. Though we geared up on Saturday and hit the road. Our approach was to try new music! It’s a new festival for us and we took this opportunity to dip our toes in different genres of music. We also brought our friend Kayla Noel (Click on her name to check out her music) who’s A) never been to a music festival before and B) is a musician so she gave us a different perspective on the entire performance aspect. The stages were close to each other, but with enough distance that they wouldn’t interfere with each other. The festival had it’s normal row of food vendors and they included an area for merchants to set up shop and sale their accessories. Black Black Moon was our favorite, their accessories were literally so cute, Alex would ware pretty much anything they have!

Saturday:
The festival vibe was great! A little different than what we’re used to, not in a bad way, just different. It’s very hippie-earthy… and not the dirty kind, like these people showered and took care of themselves, very freepeople on a budget. First was the Silent Disco… It’s such fun concept, any time there’s one, we have to go! The music was great and what was awesome about this one was that North Coast had live art happening within the silent disco area. We didn’t stay too long, we wanted to walk around plus the spray paint fumes were starting to get to us a little. We caught a bit of TY Dolla $ign as we walked in, ran to Raury (mainly because we wanted a good spot for Keys N Krates) and loved his set! Great energy, live music, super energetic, we really liked him! Keys N Krates took the stage and they rocked it, really love how they play off of each other and take turns showcasing their strengths. We went over to Bassnectar last, his set was great and that goes without saying, though the crowed was too intense so we bounced over to the Coast Stage and checked out Logic, man we’re glad we did! He’s ability to intertwine different genres of music, in live format, into a cohesive set is pretty unbelievable. All in all, it was a pretty killer start to our NCMF weekend!
Keys N Krates Coast Stage
Sunday was it for us! The day had the line up we were the most excited about: Sam Feldt, Matoma & Zedd while still focusing on trying new musi. We were able to catch a bit of TAUK‘s set, we interviewed the band so really wanted to get the vibe of them on stage (Check out the interview here). Their music is energetic and thee really exude passion, they’re going on tour this fall, so make sure you check them out! We hopped over to the Heineiken tent and played up in the cool air while listening to some dirty house ghettotek thumps dropped by Gant Man and after ran over to Jessie Royal for some inspiring music! After missing Sam Feldt at Ultra Music Festival back in march, it was important to us to catch his set. This dude is awesome! He brought a live saxophone player out on stage to play along some of his tracks! Sam Feldt, you’re killer and we’re obsessed! The rest of the night was great! Matoma was fun as always and ZEDD was incredible! It’s a little hard to beat his Ultra production, but he brought the house down! He was a great way to close a great weekend!
Ok!!! so here’s really what we loved THE MOST! American Crew set up an old fashion style barber shop within the ground of the festival! Like, mirrors, fans, two barber chairs, two stylists, products and all! The cuts were free and if you shared a before and after using @AmericanCrew #BlueSuedeBarberShop you got a free product! Matthew Pigula did Alex’s hair, this guy can cut some hair! American Crew & North Coast Music Festival, you guys earned some extra cool points!!! Check out our North Coast Music Festival adventure bellow:
CID & Kaskade have teamed up to create sweet Sweet Memories, and we’re jamming to it. The track is perfect for all setting, it can bounce from the famous Kaskade Redux setting to any big room show or festival. The house vibes of the track are pretty contagious and incredibly thumpy. Look, we’re huge Kaskade fans, and honestly he can do no wrong when it comes to music… The track is fun, has lots of energy and has that grime feel throughout the track. Check it out and let us know what you think! Also check out the official music video for Sweet Memories by CID & Kaskade below:

The North Coast Music Festival 3-day party is almost here guys! With just a little over a week away our planning is starting to come to a complete wrap up. Though, we still have the logistics to figure out (like where to stay and what to eat lol). North Coast Music Festival has an interactive schedule page that allows attendees map out their days by creating an individual schedule of artist. Making the bouncing between stages super easy.
Here’s what we have to see and what we want to try:
Friday Schedule
We want to check out Baauer & The Revivalists, never seen them live but would love to check out what they bring to the decks! We must must must catch Louis Futon, Galantis, Juicy J and Odesza. These are artist we’ve followed for years and for one reason or another we missed them or only catch a few minutes of their show. Now you know where we’ll be Friday.
Saturday Schedule
The second day is going to be a bit more experimental for us. There are only 2 people we have to see, Keys N Krates & Bassnectar. So, Saturday will serve as a day for us to expand our electronic music taste. Over looking at the schedule and with some raannt research we want to get a taste for The Trap House, Allan Rayman, Tiddle, Big Wild & Vulfpeck. Who are you ready to check out?
Sunday Schedule
The last day is jam packed for us… We want to see Jesse Royal, Matt and Kim, Jesse Saunders, Action Bronson and can’t miss our favorites Sam Feldt, Matoma & ZEDD! North Coast Music Festival is a first for us and we’re hyped for the experience! Will this be your first time? Are you a vet of NCMF? If so, what are you recommendations? What should we do? Who should we see?! Tell us, we want to experience NCMF like you experience NCMF!!

Beltane – In Irish mythology it marked the beginning of summer and was when cattle were driven out to the summer pastures. Rituals were performed to protect the cattle, crops and people, and to encourage growth. Special bonfires were kindled, and their flames, smoke and ashes were deemed to have protective powers. The people and their cattle would walk around the bonfire or between two bonfires, and sometimes leap over the flames or embers for extra protection.
Spring Awakening Day 2
Entering the grounds of Spring Awakening, I couldn’t help but feel the sense of celebration… Sure, every music festival feels that way, but this was one different. The fact that it was held mainly during the day, felt as if we were celebrating the new season. Much like the old Irish festival, all we want is to enjoy life and celebrate the sun as it finally sets for longer than it sleeps. The great thing about our generation, and Spring Awakening, is that we have incredibly stages, fun rides, beautiful light shows, refreshing drinks, bomb fireworks and of course out-of-this-world music!
Addams/Medill Park Chicago
This year SAMF celebrated 5 years of life. It celebrated a new location. It celebrated music. It celebrated love for one another. It celebrated life. For a lot of us summer started long ago, and to some lucky ones winter never came, but Spring Awakening awoke something within us as we walked the grounds… carpe diem. To live each day and enjoy each day to the fullest. It was our fist time at SAMF and it was the first music festival of our date, Oliva. It was the perfect first for us both!
The silent disco kicked off our SAMF weekend, never been to one and couldn’t wait to. So much fun and so crazy how something so small, in comparison to the festival it self, can bring so much joy! Literally, if you ever get the chance to go to one, do it! After our silent experience we leaped from stage to stage to live each vibe, each energy, each love. SAMF did a great job at keeping everything close and organized, it allowed us to go from stage to stage without having to walk very far. Major bonus: mist areas were placed in a couple of areas between stages and! “cooling” buses so people could escape the heat. Also! free water stations!
SAMF Tributes The Orlando Victims
Spring Awakening rocked it’s 3 days and it rocked our weekend! An incredible moment was witnessing the love for those lost early that day in Orlando and the support from all attendees. With that, we hope that Spring Awakening, our new Beltame, will bring love and peace, will keep our loved ones safe and healthy, will keep our lives filled with happiness and strength, and will protect us for years to come! And in true Beltame tradition, we’ll see you next year Spring Awakening!!

Now… Who’s ready for a killer Spring Awakening Music Festival weekend experience!?!?!?!
And just like that Indianapolis was taken over by some of the biggest name in the EDM industry! For the 100th running of the Indy 500, Indianapolis pull all the stops. The city was filled with energy, events, and people from all over the world to celebrate this monumental (and historical) moment for the circle city. But what’s more important, to us, is what happened in turned 3-in field of the Indianapolis Motor Speedway… The Snake Pit.
Over the last few years The Snake Pit and React Presents have worked together and really hard at providing a pretty killer experience. Not to suck up or anything, but React Presents puts together pretty amazing events throughout the year in the general Chicago area, so this is really just a taste of their production. This year the Snake Pit stage was taken over by the DJ Mustard, Zeds Dead, Skrillex & Martin Garrix, a pretty killer lineup.
Traffic was out of this world crazy, so we were late for DJ Mustard. Zeds Dead (who we’ve never seen before) was awesome. The duo was full of energy, fun personalities and killer beats. Skrillex followed them as the the Indy 500 car racers took over the track. Skrillex never disappoints, we shook hands as he walked up to the stage and talked about how crazy the Indy 500 and the Snake Pit experience is. Cool cat for sure!
Martin Garrix took over after and closed the place down. Another quick chat with the DJ before going on stage. Before his set he roamed around the track after pulling into IMS in a private chopper… talk about an entrance! So for those that don’t really know a thing about EDM, here’s a little breakdown on what Skrillex plays vs. Martin: If EDM was RAP (and this is 100% OUR opinion) Skrillex would be in the gangster rap end of the genre and Martin Garrix would be in the mainstream pop/rap blend end. Make sense?
The Snake Pit once again was an incredible experience and it’s always so fun seeing everyone get dressed up in their Memorial Day gear. Check out the full gallery of pix below and like them! We want to hear from you and your thoughts!
