Carl Cox returns to San Francisco on March 22nd to perform at the Midway to raise funds for his theme camp, Playground.
Carl has become a fixture at the counter-culture event going on ten years now, and has a special place in his heart and mind for the both people and the experience itself. He knew after his first Burning Man experience, that he had the soul of a burner and vowed to attend every Burning Man he could.
Carl started his Playground Camp as a way to celebrate all that Burning Man is, and as a way to give back to a culture that he loves. It started small and most who landed in the camp that first year were those just passing by to get someplace else, but the music and vibe pulled them in. From that humble start it has steadily grown over the years and in a very organic way because the energy, music and people are what makes Playground so special. Each year the camp receives hundreds of requests to join and Carl makes every effort to include as many new members as possible.
When Carl returns to the playa with Playground this year, you can expect that he will make the experience unforgettable in every way possible and put every bit of raised funds toward an even more amazing production than last year. From Playground’s welcoming lounge area with space to chill and drinks on tap, to the now iconic Arrival stage, you can bet that Carl and the whole Playground team are always striving to deliver an immersive experience to remember forever.

Ultra Music Festival has announced its indefinite new home ahead of the monumental 21st edition, the Historic Virginia Key Beach Park and Miami Marine Stadium Flex Park. The world-renowned and internationally acclaimed event provided the message below, in a long-awaited statement to its fans:
‘We are excited to announce that the City of Miami has agreed to a deal to relocate Ultra Music Festival to the beautiful and historic Virginia Key. The new venue will allow the festival to evolve into its new, larger home, ultimately creating a more enjoyable experience for all festival attendees. We look forward to a long-term and mutually beneficial relationship with our partners at the City of Miami and Historic Virginia Key Beach Park as we commemorate keeping Ultra in the City of Miami.’
The new venue will permit an extended operating time until 2:00 A.M. and will provide the festival with an increased capacity. Attendees will also have vastly expanded space as compared to the former venue, Bayfront Park. Fans will also experience in-tandem staging at both the Historic Virginia Key Beach Park and Miami Marine Stadium Flex Park, creating a wholly unique single event space.
Due to the cultural and historic significance of Historic Virginia Key Beach Park and given the unique environmental considerations associated with the park, Ultra Music Festival intends to take extraordinarily great care in its production and remediation approaches. Ultra understands that staging an event at Virginia Key means becoming the entrusted stewards of the environmental and historic elements of Historic Virginia Key Beach Park.
Additionally the partnership will clear a path to accessing approximately $20 million that has been earmarked to build Miami-Dade County’s first African American Museum.
Ultra Music Festival looks forward to hosting fans from over 100 countries to close out Miami Music Week March 29-31, 2019.

I love summer. I love summer so much, that I save all my complains for cold months. I don’t let a single negative word come out of my mouth while the sweet summer heat goldens my skin. That’s why North Coast Music Festival is bitter sweet. NCMF means the end of summer, our last chance to let our hair down and rock the grounds of a park somewhere in some city (this case Union Park, Chicago), celebrating our love for music and all the fun summer has brought… But enough with this weather analogy, NCMF is the perfect way to celebrate the closing of yet another great summer while staying positive, got it!
This year, I raffled off tickets (Thank you thank you North Coast!) tickets to bring along 2 music festival lovers! These lucky gals, joined my photog/dancer/musician friend Kayla as we taught them the culture and life of festival going! It was their first festival ever! We booked our rooms, planned our festival outfits, packed our weekenders and hit the road to Chicago.
The summer humidity was on blast and the heat was perfect. As we walked through the gates of the festival, we roam each stage and area of the grounds. We checked out the venders, the art, and familiarized ourselves with each state and location. Our first full set was DVSN, then we planned to split as some of wanted to check out Miguel and others wanted see Axwell /\ Ingrosso. That was our plan. That was probably the plan for many. Unfortunately Chicago had other plans in mind.
As we we ran to our hotel through the streets of Chicago, we kissed all frustrations goodbye and allowed ourselves to be playful in the rain. Last time we enjoyed playing in the rain was when we were kids and North Coast (Mother Nature really but let’s go with it) gave us the opportunity to do so again! So thank you NCMF! In our minds we still had 2 full days, so cutting one day short was no problem.
Half way through DVSN’s amazing set, the rain went from an annoying mist, to a full blown storm. The winds blew tents over, the water quickly gathered creating puddles elephants wold love to play in, and the vibe went from festivity to run-for-safety. For our, and everyone working/preforming at North Coast, safety, the festival was closed for the night. Big acts Axwell /\ Ingross and Miguel were cancelled.
Saturday was promising! We went to a fun brunch, we fueled our bodies with mimosas and joy and off we went to celebrate day 2! Our plan was to loudly dance in the silent disco, check out the live art, ride the disco shark, check out new artists and dance to the craziness that is DJ Snake. I also did fall in love with The Polish Ambassador & Diplomatic Scandal. I loved everything about them and their music.
Unfortunately, the windy city kept it’s nickname proud and gates were shot early due to severe weather warnings. Listen, we’re all for safety and making sure our bodies don’t over work themselves, so we were OK leaving a little early. Out of our Saturday plan, all we missed was DJ Snake, so it was a successful day.
Sunday was the day we set to really check out new artists and fall in love with new music. After our traditional visit to the infamous bean, which BTWs it’s actually called ‘Cloud Gate’ – 🤦🏽♂️ did not know that- we head into our final NCMF day. We really wanted to check out Crywolf. So glad we did! He’s whole vibe and set were perfect. We sat on the ground and watch festival goers dance, blow glitter into the air and lounge on huge picnic blankets. We even caught a sweet sweet moment of mom and son sharing their love of music. Jacob Banks blew our minds off! His voice, is amazing! His vibe, is full of life and soul. Everything about his set and performance had us all in awe.
Despite the early closure of Friday and Saturday and having to leave early Sunday, we’re happy to report that our North Coast Music Festival 2018 was an absolute success. Will we do it again? 100%. Will I recommend it to others? 100%. Will I try to have another contest for next NCMF? 100%!! Thank you North Coast for keeping us safe and taking good care of us. Thank you for the new music and thank you for the good times. I’m happy to say that I will see you again next year.
Did you go to North Coast? Let me know about your experience! Who was our favorite artist? Favorite stage? Favorite food vendor? I want to know it all!
It’s officially North Coast Music Festival Week!!! In less than 24 hours we will be roaming the Union Park grounds in Chicago. We already know the lineup is amazing. An incredibly eclectic set of musicians will hit 5 different stages throughout the 3 day festival.
Here’s the map of the grounds. Plan and share this with your squad so you guys know where your favorite artists, food, merchandise stations, food and drinks are all at.
SET TIMES! Plan your weekend around the artist you want to see. Make sure you leave a little wiggle room so you can check out new and different music. Music Festivals are ideal for falling in love with someone new… artist and fling!
Single day tickets are still available for sale HERE. Don’t forget to pack light, stay hydrated, be helpful to others, and PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE, make sure you live in the moment. Put the phone away, well, don’t, you have to capture as much as you can on social media so can share with everyone… but while you’re not sharing with everyone, put the phone down, live in the moment. Make memories. Make new friends. HAVE FUN!
See you guys this weekend! And if you see me, stop me and say hello! Let’s take a pic and share a dance!
Jessica Lange is back!!!! Now that we got that out there, I can calmly continue with the rest of the posts. Every season AHS is swarm with rumors, spoilers, secrets and anticipating cast revelations. So, here’s the little I know about the upcoming 8th season. But first, how amazing is the new FX Teaser of season 8?!?!!
Dante’s Nine Circles of Hell
Last year Ryan Murphy posted which circle of hell would represent the already aired seasons. If we were to go by this, this would only leave us with only two more American Horror Stories. Could this really be the almost end to an amazing franchise? And as a rumored crossover of two of the best seasons, in my opinion, would it then tackle two of the circles? Making it the last season of American Horror Story? No!! There’s no way. The good news is that the crossover is to be of
Murder House and Coven
Murphy dropped the amazing news via twitter and has continued to keep us excited as we slowly approach the September 12th premier. This crossover concept is set to bring back characters we love and love to hate.
Returning Cast
Jessica Lange Emma Roberts Evan Peters Kathy Bates Sarah Paulson Billie Lourd
Joan Collins Billie Eichner Adina Porter Cheyenne Jackson Leslie Grossman And more to be announce.
So that’s all I got so far. While we wait for the September 12th premier, I’m going to rewatch Murder House and Coven and if life doesn’t get in the way, I’ll watch the others too. Are you excited about the new American Horror Story?
This makes me want to go to TomorrowLand so much more. Never been, but I have to TomorrowWorld, but it’s for sure in my bucket list, and the official aftermovie makes me want to go to it so much more! Their message is amazing and the vibes are EVERYTHING!
Ok, the production of the main stage is crazy! It looked like you really would feel like you were underwater. Minute 9ish, when ‘Your Mind’ by Adam Beyer & Bart Skills plays… uuuufffff!!!!
Everything look amazing and the aftermovie does such an amazing job at wrapping it all up nicely. Like, I really really wanna go! Is it just me, or that ending a solid tearjerker?! UGH!!! I love them so much!!!! Did you guys like the aftermovie? What was your favorite moment?
