Steve Aoki announced via his Instagram account the remix “Darker Than The Light That Never Bleeds” (Chester Forever Steve Aoki Remix). The song is a mash up of “Darker Than Blood” and “A Light That Never Comes,” two songs he created with Linkin Park. Steve made the mash up as his tribute to his late friend Chester Bennington. The remix is available now with net proceeds from the track being donated in Chester’s name to Music For Relief’s One More Light fund.
Summer always comes to an end like a day hungover post brunch… heavy and painful. Though the beauty of it all is like that mimosa at brunch, refreshing, fun, and sexy. North Coast Music Festival is my end of summer bottomless brunch mimosa.
This year, I grabbed the beautiful Kayla Noel and our friend Jason, for our end of summer rager at the 8th annual NCMF. All August long I joked about “August being the Sunday of Summer” and in true #SundayFunday nature, we celebrated it as such. WE took full advantage of all the NCMF accommodations: Hotel purchase through their site, best idea ever. We stayed a few blocks away from festival grounds and from downtown Chicago. We celebrated our festival day/night hunger with their broad options of food, even had a gluten free AREPA!! Took pix and filled our snapchat and instastories with the art around the grounds and, of course, danced our heads off with the eclectic combination of music and artists NCMF featured this year!
Favorite acts: Big Boi from Outcast, brought us back!!! Carnage, as always, amazing. Elephante brought fun top 40 electro beats, fell in love with Electronic Guest, Hippie Sabotage rocked it! These guys are incredibly crazy and got me a little teary eye with their “fuck whomever tells you ‘you can’t achieve your dreams'” speech. LOVE THEM! Destructo set the vibe for the night fall and we closed our weekend with some Primus and Skepta. So, thank you NCMF for being an incredible way to end my summer and for always introducing me to amazing music! Till 2018!
Pasquale has teased and teased the big announcement… well here it is:
Here’s the big news! After a lot of energy, passion and hard work, I want to personally present to you EDC Las Vegas 2018. New hours, new stages, and new dates (May 18–20) with better weather and camping! That’s right—campsites, RVs, sound camps, and more—for the first time ever at EDC Las Vegas. Wake up and walk in.
Over the past 10 years, average high temps on this weekend in May have been 90, and the lows have been 64. This means we can extend our hours and create an opening ceremony on the cosmicMEADOW lawn, featuring extended sets from different artists each day. One stage, one vibe—all before the rest of the experience turns on. Not only will it give people a chance to vibe out before sunset, but the early arrivals will help the flow in and out of the Speedway.
Shuttle operations will be handed over to an independent company that specializes in the largest music and sporting events in the country. This is what they do, and they do it better than anyone else, year over year. Also new for 2018, construction in the immediate area of the Speedway will finally be complete. In 2017, we had just two lanes. EDC Las Vegas 2018 will have three lanes plus pull-offs. There will be traffic in and out of the festival, but if you want a one-and-done journey to the Speedway, just camp out.
We’ll be rolling out more details in the coming weeks, and I’ll be personally answering your questions live on my Instagram. Tickets and camping passes go on sale at the end of September, but hotels are available now on our website with no markup.
EDC Las Vegas 2018 is going to be an amazing new adventure, and I can’t wait to see you there!
For the first time in history, the 2018 installment of the festival will offer a fully immersive camping program conveniently situated right next to the Speedway where the following options and amenities are available:
Rent an air-conditioned GA tent decked out with dust-control canvas walls, comfortable artificial grass, and electrical outlets for up to six attendees, max.
Rent an air-conditioned Premier tent complete with dust-control canvas walls, comfortable artificial grass, twin or queen-sized beds, linens, pillows, towels, tables, chairs, and lights for up to two or four attendees, max.
Bring your own RV and hook it up to the pre-arranged power on-site.
Rent an RV fully set up and ready for arrival, complete with linens and pillows provided by Insomniac.
The new camping areas will eliminate vehicle traffic for campers, offering an easy commute and convenient ins and outs of the festival each day. At the center of the campgrounds, fans can enjoy plenty of shade, seating, water, food and beverage vendors, a general store, activities and more. A neighboring area will allow for the creation of Sound Camps where Headliners can build out their own themed environments.
EDC Las Vegas 2018 will return to Las Vegas Motor Speedway with unparalleled access to the festival grounds for attendees who arrive at the venue early. The iconic cosmicMEADOW lawn will host opening ceremonies before the gates officially open each day; giving fans a chance to catch extended sets and cool down before the festivities begin. Early Owl three-day general admission passes start at $325 while VIP three-day passes start at $699, both before taxes and fees. Fans who miss out on Early Owl pricing will have the opportunity to purchase the newly added Wise Owl tier, priced at $340 plus taxes and fees for three-day general admission passes. For those that wait to purchase their EDC Las Vegas 2018 tickets, a Later Owl tier will be available for $355 plus taxes and fees. Headliners will have affordable layaway options for all ticket types, with additional details coming soon.

The SHOWTEK boys are back on a stage in a city near you!!! Their new two track EP, AMEN, sets the tone for their upcoming North American tour kicking off August 31st. In the AMEN Tour, the combination of the Caribbean tropical like beats on “Amen” with the signature Showtek heavy bass and drops in “Don’t Shoot” will keep concert goers moving nonstop the entire time.
Tickets are now on sale here and you can purchase AMEN here.
As the heat of Mamby on the Beach starts to cool off and the sounds of multiple artist blending in the background become a form of our weekend soundtrack, we were introduced to Ravyn Lenae. This beautiful, young, and incredibly talented Chicago native demanded attention as she walked on stage and her vocals started to penetrate the air. Her voice and vibe are the true definition of transportive, just hit play on her latest EP ‘Midnight Moonlight‘ and close your eyes… you’ll see what we mean!
We loved having the opportunity to chat with Ravyn about her music, her likes, and her upcoming US tour! Check out of full interview and captivate yourself with Ravyn Lenae:
The Norwegian musician, Sonny Alven, and I have something common… Music evokes an intoxifying feeling we can’t help but chase after. Now, I don’t know how to make music… so for me is about what I hear. For Sonny Alven is the creation of a something that fulfills him. In there, lies the artistry of his talent… He makes music for a feeling, for something to burst inside ourselves that’s personal while shareable with many. I love this about his passion and was incredibly excited when I got to interview him! Check out Sonny Alven, a guy who loves music… and has something in common with me!
Out of what I can remember, my first CD would have to be “Curtain Call” by Eminem.
3. What do you love about making music?
What I love the most about music is when I get that feeling, where it feels like I’ve made something really good. And I just want to listen to it over and over again, and I’m really proud of it. It doesn’t really matter if people like it or not, as long as I’m happy with it. Chasing that feeling is something that keeps me going.
4. If you could collab with any 3 musicians, dead or alive, who would they be and why?
Lana Del Rey, Michael Jackson and The Beatles. It would be so interesting to see how these super talented people work when it comes to music. I’m sure I could learn so much.
5. Tell us about your newest EP, Girls, and what inspired each track.
My EP ‘Girls’ consists of three songs, featuring only female vocalists. I was sent ‘Your Touch’ as a demo and fell in love with the vocals straight away. Olivera has such a great and nice voice which I really like! ‘Wasted Youth’ and ‘Too Late To Love Me’ came together in two different sessions, where I brought some instrumental ideas and we started to write on top of that. ‘Wasted Youth’ is about breaking the rules and going on your own path, not letting anyone else tell you what to do. ‘Too Late To Love Me’ is more of a love song where the boy in a relationship messes up too many times, and tries to get back with her, but it’s too late..
6. Now for raannt’s signature question: How do you define sexy?
Sexy can be many things… But when someone is really great at something, like they totally just own it. I think that can be very sexy (maybe depends on what it is though, haha).
7. What’s going on with Sonny Alven this summer?
I’m doing a lot of gigs, some big festivals and some smaller stuff. Mostly playing here in Norway, at places such as Stavernfestivalen, Findings, Stereo and Utopia. While also focusing on finishing up music that will be released after summer, which I am really excited about!
8. What’s your favorite social media app (snapchat, instagram, facebook, tinder) and why (also tell everyone where they can follow you and your music)?
I think my favorite social media app must be Instagram. I think it’s a fun and easy way to share pictures and videos. You can follow me on Facebook, Instagram and Twitter. Just search for Sonny Alven! 🙂
9. What are your three simple luxuries?
I can’t really think of three simple luxuries…But my biggest luxuries is definitely being able to do music full time, and having a lot of fun a long the way. I feel very privileged!
Sonny, thank you so much for taking the time to let me interview you!!! Excited for the new beats and will have to make it out to Norway for one of your shows!
