Lady Gaga’s Hidden Meanings Behind Performance of New Single “Dope”

In an interesting performance at the YouTube Music Awards, Lady Gaga pounded away at a grand piano as she belted out the heartfelt lyrics to Dope, her newest single to her upcoming ARTPOP album.  Even stranger are the write-ups she’s receiving about the meaning of the song.  We’re not geniuses, but being that one half of us is an addict in recovery, we seem to believe the song is about the internal struggle between the promises an addict makes and believes and the pull of the addiction.  Gaga’s performance is so raw and heartfelt it truly feels like the pleading of an addict and by the end of the performance she is really into her…performance.  And we love her for it!

On a side note, the beginning of Gaga’s performance is eerily reminiscent of the ending scene of Bette Midler’s famous movie, The Rose, which tells the story of a self destructive musician and her turbulent relationship with her manager.  Incidentally, she too struggles with addiction.  Also, Lady Gaga just announced her split with longtime manager Troy Carter, so could this performance be an homage to their relationship? Who knows.  Only Gaga knows…

Sebjak Set to Release “Feel You” November 19 on Ultra Music plus US Tour Dates

The rising star known as Sebjak is breaking into the scene in a big way, and his new track “Feel You,” forthcoming on Ultra Music, is poised to take him to the next level. This track comes hot on the heels of his hit collaborative track with the talented Mike Hawkins, “Let’s Go,” which was released this September on Ultra Music. This was the duo’s first release since their last 2012 smash hit “Ghost.”

Our queen of pop, Britney Spears, revealed the art work for her upcoming album, Britney Jean, with a personal hand written letter addressed to the world… well her fans, but that’s really the entire world! So that’s pretty cool…especially to be able to see how much she cares about her fans and to see her writing…

“Dear Fans,

 

I haven’t sat down to write you guys in SUCH a long time.  Long overdue!  We’re all so used to getting our thoughts out in 140 characters, but sometimes its nice to take time to sit down and write something a little longer and more personal.  I am putting the finishing touches on my new album, “Britney Jean” over the next few days and I am so excited for you to hear it.  I poured my heart and soul into this album and it’s been an incredible journey.  I’ve learned a lot about myself, and as I am finishing, I am reminded of the incredible foundation that has supported me for the last 15 years.  Thank you all for continuing to follow me on this journey and for allowing me to do what I love to do.  I can’t believe this is my eighth studio album and I know I keep telling you that it is my most personal record yet, but its true and I’m really proud of that. 

 

I have been through a lot in the past few years and it has really inspired me to dig deeper and write songs that I think everyone can relate to.  Working with people like Sia, William Orbit, and of course Will.i.am has been an amazing experience.  They have listened to all of my ideas and helped me bring them to life.  There are a lot of really fun, upbeat dance songs, but it was important to me that I show my strength, and my attitude, and my vulnerability.  Of course, I also have some surprises for you guys 😉

 

I want to show you the different sides of Britney Spears.  I am a performer.  I am a Mom.  I am funny.  I am your friend!  I am Britney Jean.

Eighteen cities added to world tour, more to be announced.

Armin van Buuren announced the cities and dates of his upcoming world tour: Armin Only – Intense. Next to the first two (sold-out) editions in the Amsterdam Ziggo Dome in early November, the tour will also land in cities such as New York, St. Petersburg, Toronto, Mexico city, Sydney, Johannesburg and many more.  The new world tour is inspired by Armin’s latest artist album, Intense (Armada Music). ‘Armin Only’ is a concept that started in the early days of Armin’s career. Since the first editions in the early millennium years, the show has grown and come to life.
