The bonus track on Ellie Goulding‘s Halcyon Days album, How Long Will I Love You, is burning it’s way up the charts since it’s release in late October.  The newest hit is featured in a short film from Roger Michell and stars Ellie Goulding and Dylan Edwards! The newest hit single, Go Gentle, from Robbie Williams‘ most recent album Swings Both Ways, is blasting it’s way up the charts.  Only just released mid-November, Robbie’s newest album is garnishing amazing reviews and is highly focused on his collaborative work with several artists including Kelly Clarkson and Michael Buble.  Check out the new single below and let us know what you think! We think it’s pretty good and he doesn’t look bad either!

Within just weeks of each other, both Britney Spears and Lady released new albums.  Interestingly, both Britney’s Britney Jean and Lady Gaga’s ARTPOP are receiving mixed reviews.  It seems lovers of both aren’t necessarily coming to bat for the girls, although both albums are topping the charts already!

So we’d like to hear from you! What do you think?  Who do you think is still the best at their game and who is coming back full force with their newest album.  We’ll release our findings plus our own personal opinion next week.  Until then, check out both of their albums below on iTunes!

In an interesting performance at the YouTube Music Awards, Lady Gaga pounded away at a grand piano as she belted out the heartfelt lyrics to Dope, her newest single to her upcoming ARTPOP album.  Even stranger are the write-ups she’s receiving about the meaning of the song.  We’re not geniuses, but being that one half of us is an addict in recovery, we seem to believe the song is about the internal struggle between the promises an addict makes and believes and the pull of the addiction.  Gaga’s performance is so raw and heartfelt it truly feels like the pleading of an addict and by the end of the performance she is really into her…performance.  And we love her for it!

On a side note, the beginning of Gaga’s performance is eerily reminiscent of the ending scene of Bette Midler’s famous movie, The Rose, which tells the story of a self destructive musician and her turbulent relationship with her manager.  Incidentally, she too struggles with addiction.  Also, Lady Gaga just announced her split with longtime manager Troy Carter, so could this performance be an homage to their relationship? Who knows.  Only Gaga knows…
