Another night another rager? Hahahah well, we don’t rage as often as we would like to but let’s just say that Safe In Sound Music Festival provided a great reason (and music) to rage! The 3 year old traveling festival teamed up with Borgore to lead a pack of incredible DJs onto a 25 city tour. Allowing fans to experience the music festival on their own social playgrounds. Each city features a different set of DJs (sometimes not, but it has a great artist rotation) for a unique experience. For the Indianapolis chapter we had ETC(!) ETC(!), TERRAVITA, Zomboy & Borgore and were able to clock some one on one chats with the cool kids from TERRAVITA and the man himself Borgore! Each DJ was great and played some exciting tunes, some dropped new tracks and others really pumped up the energy of the crowd. So here’s to the many Safe In Sound Music Festivals left and if one is close to you or hitting your hometown, make sure you go!!!!!!
You guys… This was literally so much fun for us! Meeting and chatting with Borgore gave us this “cool” feel to our experience at Safe In Sound Music Festival and being able to get back stage to take pix and dance a little to his set, was the cherry on top! Borgore is a cool cat guys! He legit sat back on the couch and answer questions and we felt like we were just hanging out with a friend at his house. We talked about the Safe In Sound concept, we talked about his newest single “Daddy” and why he goes by that! We also learned that he likes rock climbing! That was cool. Over the weekend we had the pleasure to chat with Matt Jalbert (Guitar) Charlie Dolan (Bass) Alric “A.C.” Carter (Keyboards/Organ) Isaac Teel (Drums) from TAUK. Before landing the interview, we didn’t know who they were or what kind of music they played. As a matter of fact, we thought it was a one person DJ act. That’s usually what is pitched to us, but after some research, listening to their music, and watching their videos, we were excited to get to know the minds behind the band. First we wanted to know what their name meant, how to pronounce it, and how they came to be.
We talked about their new album, Sir Nebula, and their newest music video for “Horizons” – which seriously, it’s pretty trippy! So fun to see their music translated into something unexpected! DJ Producer Kill The Buzz took over 10 cities with the Revealed Recordings North America Tour. Along side friends Thomas Newson & Hardwell these bachelors hit the decs with incredible music, amazing production, and unbelievable energy in 10 cities across North America. We had the pleasure of chatting with Kill The Buzz right before taking over the stage at The Bluestone in Columbus, OH. Ok! The venue is cool, grand in a small kind of way but still big and demands attention. As the final touches in sound and production check were wrapping up, we (Alex Paredes & College Intern Juan Paredes) went backstage to catch Kill The Buzz before his opening set. Thanks to our doll Amanda Kaiser from Bless PR, we were introduce to Tesla Boy and just like that, something refreshingly new! The New Wave-Electro-Pop is fun, upbeat, refreshing, new, while having the basics of retro 80’s rock and pop blend together. It’s really fun and the music is transcendent. So, we had to learn more. We had the pleasure to chat with Anton Sevidov, vocalist of the Russian foursome, about how Tesla Boy came to be, their latest single and what’s to come. How did the four of you come together as Tesla Boy?
We all met in Moscow. And it happened at different times. We have been playing as this team for three years. Misha and I (Anton Sevidov) are from Moscow. Stas is from town of Penza. And Leo came from Rostov, a city in the south. We were part of a large group of people who were engaged in modern indie-pop music. Once our old drummer was unable to perform with us, I suggested Misha as a substitute. I decided to keep him. And since then he has been with us. I found Leo through the Internet – said I was looking for a bassist and requested some samples – well, he did it, I liked it, and the next day he was in Moscow. Stas was recommended by my Moscow DJ friends and he did a very good remix for us. Now you know all.

What does Tesla Boy mean?
He is a Nikola Tesla illegitimate son, who for a long time had been wandering around the world and eventually secretly settled in Belorussia, where he had been secretly working on elixir of eternal power, which won a guy who is now the President of that country. This is in honor of this guy we called our band, that is, not in honor of the President.
We love your sound! Can you tell us what inspired your vibe and sound?
Thank you. I am glad. A lot of records. As you can see the sound has sufficiently changed. And it will change even more. Earlier I was inspired by Escape from New York, and say “is this love” by White Snake or “This Is Not America” by David Bowie, but now I try to listen more to classic music, so as not to bother my brain with the music that sounds around. I am inspired a lot by Tchaikovsky, Muller and baroque music.
What inspired your newest single “Nothing”?
I was inspired by a documentary about great Rudolf Nureyev. It is an amazing story of a man who in one leap from the past decided to jump into the future.

Though The Chainsmokers tour may be over, we’re still super excited about our interview with the killer Matoma, so excited we missed pronounced his name twice… seriously, the Venezuelan in me over took my speech and added an accent over the o, Oh! No! We had the pleasure to step backstage before his set and chat about what life on the road has been like, his music, the collaboration of his latest single and learn more about his personal likes.
