Winter is not even half way over and we’re already thinking about EXODUS Festival Weekend! I mean, come on!! Who wants to think about the cold and snow and the cold?! So, here’s where our minds are at… EXODUS festival in Las Vegas, the pool parties will be raging, the roof-tops will be sexy and the clubs will be crazy! So what else would we want?! Well, the top Vegas clubs hosting these events: Omnia at Caesars Palace, Hakkasan, Wet Republic, Drais clubs and of course, the one and only, Marquee day club!
The premier opening party will be at Drais night club on Thursday May 15th and the official welcome party on Friday May 16th followed by a series of night-outs and killer set. The weekend officially closes at the incredible Marquee day club…. Who will be playing? Well here’s a bit of our prediction: the regular residencies (Hakkasan’s official residency roster) plus a couple of surprises!

Over the last few years we’ve parked our pretty little butts at the Ciroc The New Year Party. Out of all the fun and dressed up parties, the one at the IMA, Old National Center, clubs and private parties… there’s nothing that really compares to a night with your closest friends, dressed in your best, ringing in the New Year and kissing the old one away. As always, killer beats will be provided by Indy’s top DJs, uber-sexy VIP sections all across the space, pictures, red carpet, hor d’oeuvres, open bar and of course a champagne toast at midnight! We’re getting down to the wire boys and girls and it’s time to figure out who you’re going to root on for the next National Entertainer of the Year.  First of all, we know there’s only 10 girls in the final night, but we decided to pick 12 to make it more interesting…but we have to make a little disclaimer first.

We’re not really sure why, but we have a strange feeling that this year, someone unpredicted or not well known, will come in and swoop the pageant!   This hasn’t really happened in a long time and it is the 10th anniversary of Nina D’Angelo‘s unpredicted win with amazing talent…AND Shayla Simpson‘s 20th Anniversary(Although she’s no longer with us) of her amazing win and unprecedented talent! Based on these historical marks, we…the boys of raannt…are predicting a swoop by an unpredicted win.

But…since we’re in the predictions business…Here’ our predictions for the Top 12 and the Winner of National Entertainer of the Year 2013!

With the passing of some of all time favorite performers this year, Erica Andrews and Whitney Paige, as well as many others, we thought it would be interesting to pay tribute to the art of female impersonation by reviewing and doing tribute pieces to several National pageants.  We’ve watched drag from afar for quite some time, attending national pageants, interviewing all of the contestants of RuPaul’s Drag Race, going to our favorite bars and watching our favorite queens perform, but we’ve only been observers. This year, we wanted to give back to world of drag by highlighting the beauty, sisterhood and true entertainment that comes from within…one of the greatest art forms of our time.  In the following week leading up to the National Entertainer of the Year Pageant, we will be spotlighting some of our favorite former winners by posting our interviews with them.  Please enjoy our interview with Erica Andrews from several years ago HERE!
